What's on Your Mind?

Judith Kindler takes on internet social networking (i.e., Facebook) in this playful installation: Mimicking a clinical environment, she incorporates Facebook status updates, linking them with her photography which has been embedded in wax and distorted. Along with sculptural figures, the photography has all been sealed in over 350 jars.

Kindler attempts to preserve and document not only her own moments, but the muses, intellect, sensibilities, friends and sometiimes utter nonsense that makes up the fleeting, streaming play on her Facebook page, that is a source of great entertainment, information and revelations for the artist.

She explores the integration of internet social networking in contemporary life, that promotes both voyeurism and a platform for acting out; giving us both real and illusury connections with others all while we physically and often times emotionally remain isolated.

Partial shot of the installation of over 350 sealed jars.

Like specimens preserved in jars, Kindler attempts to document fleeting imagery and random status updates.

The random play of status updates and imagery typify the sometime chaotic nature of the internet.
